THE CHANGING ECONOMIES IN ARTISTS’ FILM
For several years, Portland Green has been researching the contemporary problematics in play within the economics of artists’ moving image today. Specifically, she has researched shifts in the relationships between public institutions and the contemporary art market and industry, and changes in commercial film and entertainment distribution brought about by the rise of digital technology and new systems of collection facilitated by the ‘networked turn’.
This research will be presented in a paper at a conference at a major UK art institution in the fall of 2015.
