Talking Culture was edited by a small group of independent consultants and producers working across the arts, in both the subsidized and commercial sectors, seeking to investigate alternate cultural, business models for the independent arts professional or micro arts organisation. Aware of the limitations of subsidised arts management models and conscious of pending seismic shifts in publicly-funded reasource bases, we wanted to engage in a dialogue with individuals from other sectors and in other countries to see if we could learn something about operating more effctively as micro businesses.
